CHICAGO, 26th April, 2026 (WAM) -- A police officer was killed and another critically injured following a shooting at a hospital in Chicago, United States.

Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said a suspect has been taken into custody, without disclosing further details about the individual.

Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital, where the incident occurred, said its medical complex was placed on lockdown and confirmed that patients and staff at the facility are safe.
