Connecticut Sun coach Curt Miller has left the team to tend a family medical issue in Pennsylvania, the club announced Tuesday.
A timetable for his return was not set by the Sun (8-3), who return to action against the host Chicago Sky on Thursday and Saturday.
Assistant coach Brandi Poole will serve as the team's acting head coach in the absence of Miller, 52.
Named WNBA Coach of the Year in 2017, Miller is in his sixth season coaching the Sun. He has a career record of 97-72 and led the Sun to the WNBA finals in 2019, where they lost to the Washington Mystics in five games.
In January, the team signed Miller to a four-year contract extension that runs through 2024.
