Four boys aged 14 and under arrested over gang-rape

NEWARK, New Castle County, Delaware - Four children  aged 12 to 14 are facing serious charges after the alleged abudction and gang-rape of a young girl.

Four boys, one aged 12, two aged thirteen, and one, 14, were arrested on Wednesday, according to a statement released by New Castle County Police on Friday.

The arrests are in connection with an incident that occurred on 11 December when police were called to a unit block in the community of Wellington Woods in Newark, a city of about 32,000 (pop.), in New Castle County, west-southwest of Wilmington in Delaware, on reports of a rape.

The officers say they learned that a juvenile victim had been forced into a residence by several boys. Once inside the residence, the victim they allege was forcibly raped by four juvenile males.

The case was referred to detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Family Services Squad and through their investigation, four males were identified.

Investigators executed various search warrants during the course of the investigation and, according to the police statement, located additional evidence linking the suspects to the crimes.

"On Wednesday, January 16 2019, detectives obtained arrest warrants for 13-year-old Louis Miller,14-year-old Kabarshenay Ellis-Pinkney, 12-year-oldJa'den Gloverand 13-year-old Joseph James-Carter. The investigation further revealed that Louis Miller and Joseph James-Carteralso menaced the victim with a weapon after the incident and warned her not to tell anyone. All were arrested without incident," said the police statement.

"Louis Miller (pictured) was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Aggravated Menacing, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, two counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree, one count of misdemeanor Terroristic Threatening, one count of misdemeanor Theft under $1,500, and one count of misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $65,500 secured bail."

"Kabarshenay Ellis-Pinkney was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, and two counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail," said ther police statement released on Friday.

"Ja'den Glover was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, and three counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was also arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail."

"Joseph James-Carter was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Aggravated Menacing, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, three counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail," said the police statement.
